Magnolia Plantation and Gardens

Magnolia Plantation and Gardens is a wedding venue located in Charleston, South Carolina. The property features centuries-old live oak trees and a massive public garden. The garden contains bright azaleas, wisteria, hydrangea, magnolias, and camellia, all of which bloom throughout the year.

Facilities and Capacity

This venue has three separate wedding spaces spread across an area of almost 500 acres. The Carriage House provides both indoor and outdoor areas and can accommodate weddings of up to 200 guests on its lawn. The house’s spacious patio can be used for a cocktail hour before the reception and there is a get-ready room available for pre-ceremony preparations. During the summer months, the veranda is available for outdoor events. Ceremonies are performed on the Long White Bridge Lawn, while receptions of up to 250 people are held on the back lawn of the estate. Small events of 60 guests or fewer can be hosted in the Conservatory which features teak tables and a winding path through the gardens. The Schoolhouse Pond Lawn can be used for a waterfront ceremony. The property also features private dressing rooms for any pre-ceremony preparations. For elopements, this venue can provide couples with access to the property to take pictures and hold a small ceremony in any of the event areas.

Services Offered

Magnolia’s enthusiastic and friendly staff is available by private bookings to give tours of the property and give couples an idea of the event spaces. They are happy to refer vendors that may be chosen by the engaged couple. The venue allows pets for those couples who want their furry friends to be involved in the celebration.
